The Ramblings of Carolann

Posted on 03/22/2016

I have a confession this morning, this blog is giving me FITS!  I had just created one and hit publish and POOF it was gone, can't find it anywhere, nor could tech support, so I shall begin again.

The reality is this, I own a quick lube/auto repair facility but about the ONLY thing I know how to do with a car is put gas in it and turn it on!  Rest assured my son Zachery is brillant with cars and the business so you're in great hands!  Plus, Orv is an ASE Certified Master Mechanic and does amazing work for us and all of our Lube Techs are Pennzoil trained & certified.

We are certainly blessed with an amazing team!!  Everyone of our guys are hard working & dedicated!  I'm proud to call them our team for sure!

A fun fact about me??  I'm afraid to drive into the shop because I'm afraid I'll drive into the pit!  My guys do it for me!  ha ha  So if you're like me and a little fearful of that just let my guys know you'd like them to pull your vehicle in.  They're happy to do it, in fact, they do that for a lot of people!

What I've decided to do in this blog is write about all different things!  One day it might be about vehicles and maintenance and stuff like that, another day it might be a great recipe I whipped up, (I'm a pretty good cook) and another day it might be about one of my doggies, Ziggy or Maggie MooMoo!

You see, we are all supposed to be real, our authentic selves apparently!  Well my authentic self can write, and I'd rather write fun, goofy or ridiculous stuff, than boring stuff about a vehicle.  That's what my shops for!  We are here to help you, teach you in a sense, what you need to do to keep your vehicle in tip top shape!

I hope you are all prepped and Spring winter storm ready!  Don't forget, stop in for your FREE checkup to be sure you're vehicle is winter storm ready!  HEY!!  Did you see how I did that lead in about Free Checkups!!  ha

Until next time......

Cheers!

My embarrassing moment as an auto repair shop owner!

Posted on 03/09/2016

The snow has left us for now, THANKFULLY, but last week it was large and in charge!!

As I was on my way to work after a big snow storm I heard and FELT this horrible grinding noise and I thought to myself, "oh my gosh!!!  Is my wheel going to fall off before I even get to the shop??"  So I pull up to the door on the lube center side and they direct me in.  I get out of the car, in darn close to a panic, and I breathlessly say, "Brent, there is something REALLY wrong with my car!!!  I think my tires coming off!!!"  Brent, in his very Brent like way, smirked at me and said, "I'll check it out C.A., no problem."  I'm talking crazy fast and I say, "We HAVE to get this fixed!  I have to drive to Grand Rapids today to meet some friends to drop off the food I've made for them!"

So down in the pit Brent goes, and I go to my office and shuffle papers around, still worrying about that dumb tire that is falling off my car!

I get done in my office and I'm secretly worrying that Brent hasn't come to give the bad news, so up the steps I go and my car is still sitting there, no hood open, nothing, the guys are just standing there staring at me.  I think to myself, "this CANNOT be good, they're afraid to tell me what's wrong!!"

I say, "Well??  Can we fix it??  Why is my tire coming off??  Is it my tie rods??  What??"

Brent doesn't laugh, but now they're all definatley grinning.  Brent says, "you had snow packed in the wheel well, your tire isn't falling off.....you're good to go!"

And THAT'S when they all started laughing!  And I reminded them who signed their paychecks and we all had a good laugh at my expense!

My point in this blog is this:  If you hear something strange in your vehicle or something doesn't feel right, come in and see us!!  We will inspect your vehicle for FREE and you can have peace of mind!  Even if it's just packed snow in the wheel well, my handsome crew will take great care of you!  And hey, we get packed snow out of wheel wells at no charge!

Enjoy your day, and this amazing spring weather we are having early here in Michigan!

Cheers,

Carolann
